Reno Celtic Celebration
Dancers, musicians, highland games and more Oct. 4-5 at Bartley Ranch
The 18th annual Reno Celtic Celebration is back for more fun with all things Celtic. Pipe bands, Celtic musicians, highland games, Scottish and Irish dancers, Celtic vendors and more can be found Oct. 4-5 at Bartley Ranch Regional Park, 6000 Bartley Ranch Road. Price is $10 adults; $5 seniors and kids under 10.
Clan tents and information booths will provide a hands-on learning environment for attendees to learn the rich cultural heritage and Celtic origins of their ancestors. Highland athletic events are a traditional part of any Celtic gathering and Reno Celtic Celebration has included them again this year. The Scottish games are conducted by the Scottish-American Athletic Association and features the heavy games.
Dancers include the Dunsmuir Scottish Dancers, Silver State Scottish Dancers, Selkie in the Bay and The Merrie Pryanksters. Pipe bands scheduled for this year include Reno's own Sierra Highlanders Pipe Band, Reno and District Firefighters Pipe Band and the City of Sacramento Pipeband. If you love the bagpipes, you won't want to miss these fine bands. The bands will be piping at various times all weekend.
