The National Championship Air Races is proud to announce that it received an Award of Excellence from the Reno-Tahoe chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA) for its 2007 advertising campaign “Salute to Champions.” The award was given to the campaign that promoted the 2007 races; the theme honored the rich history of Air Race champions.

“We are happy to be recognized for a campaign that represented the prestige and legacy of the world’s only head-to-head air race competition,” said Reno Air Races president and CEO Michael Houghton. “We are happier when we get to share our love of air racing with hundreds of thousands of fans, each year.”

The 2007 National Championship Air Races drew over 210,000 spectators to the Reno-Stead Airfield for a week’s worth of fast-paced air racing. The Award for Excellence was presented at last month’s AMA ACE Awards ceremony at Harrah’s in Reno.

The 45th Annual National Championship Air Races and Air Show in Reno is the premier air racing event in the world. The air races take-off from Sept. 10 through 14, 2008 at the Reno Stead Airfield. For tickets call (775) 972-6663 or visit www.airrace.org.
