Angora Lakes Trail - Easy
A half-mile hike to Angora Lakes. Take Hwy 89 N. approximately 3 miles from South Lake Tahoe to Fallen Leaf Lake Road and turn left. Turn left at the first paved road. Continue to Forest Service Road 12N14 and turn right.

Eagle Falls - Moderate to Difficult
A moderate to difficult path located at Hwy 89 N. approximately 8 miles from South Lake Tahoe at the Eagle Falls Picnic Area. Beginning elevation is 6,600 feet reaching 8,500 feet.

Echo Lakes Trail - Moderate
Located off Hwy 50 to Echo Summit on Johnson Pass Road. A moderate hike beginning at 7,420 feet reaching 8,430 feet, including several alpine lakes.

Jones Creek - White's Creek Looptrail
The trailhead for this 9.5-mile ride is located in the Galena Creek Park on the Mt. Rose Highway.

Lake Tahoe Rim Trail - Moderate and Advanced
Trails are of moderate and advanced difficulty with an average grade of 10 percent at elevations ranging from 6,300 to 9,400 feet.

Marlette Lake - Moderate
A moderate 5-mile hike located at the Spooner Lake Park. Beginning elevation is 7,000 feet reaching 8,600 feet.

Mt. Rose - Advanced
A strenuous 6-mile hike, ranging in elevation from 8,700 feet to 10,778 feet. Located at the base of the summit.

Mt. Tallac Trail - Advanced
A strenuous 9-mile hike beginning at 6,480 feet and climbing to 9,375 feet. The trailhead is located approximately 3.5 miles north of South Lake Tahoe on Hwy 89.

Peavine Mountain
Trails are located on Forest Service land, which has been converted into hiking and mountain biking routes with extensive views of Reno and Sparks.

Rubicon Trail - Moderate
A moderate trail located 10 miles from South Lake Tahoe at D. L. Bliss State Park off Hwy 89 N. Elevation begins at 6,230 feet and reaches 6,580 feet.

Shirley Lake - Difficult
The trail starts at the end of Squaw Peak Road. A 2.5-mile hike each way that takes about 2 - 3 hours.

Stateline Lookout - Easy
An easy .5 mile hike located off Hwy 28 on the north shore of Lake Tahoe. Turn north on Reservoir Drive, turn right on Lakeshore Avenue and left on Forest Service Road 160.
