Vacation rental vs. hotel: Which one is best for your stay at Lake Tahoe?
No doubt most folks would find a vacation at Lake Tahoe a satisfying destination. Whether traveling with friends, family, kids or adults, Lake Tahoe offers some of the most satisfying recreation for all ages, year-round. What can make or break a great vacation is the quality of lodging and finding the right fit for the right traveler.
Consider your needs: Lake Tahoe travelers should ask themselves a series of questions before deciding on vacation accommodations, among those quandaries, "Continental breakfast, or a full kitchen to cook in;" "Housekeeping or laundry room;" "Valet parking or driveway;" "Close proximity to a casino, or alone in the woods?" The right answer depends on personal preferences, number of traveling companions and lifestyle demands.

5. Java Jungle Java Jungle is a great, hip place to get coffee at, as it's the most artsy-fartsy coffee shop in town, offering poetry readings, art events, music performances, and more. It's good to be a local if the locale is Reno

Reno.com editor Megg Mueller writes Reno 360º, a blog for those who love Reno and aren't afraid to admit it.
I haven't done this in this space before but I'm going to recommend a place that is giving locals a total steal. Grand Sierra Resort's Lodge Buffet is normally about $18 a person. For buffets, that's about standard, and if you're my boyfriend, you still get your money's worth; the man can eat. Especially seafood.
But for the time being, GSR is offering locals the chance to chow for just $7.77. Even on weekends. All you have to do is swipe your local ID in one of the kiosks around the casino, and you get a coupon good for four people. That's it. No signing up for anything.
