The Joe Crowley Student Union invites the public to come by and see a movie in their new digital, surround sound, high definition, state-of-the art movie theater. Experience a movie in this amazing new theater. Come check it out.
Spring 2008
Sunday Evening International Series:
Beginning 7 p.m. Jan. 26 with the German film The Lives of Others sneak preview for the campus community, Sundays will be host to this exciting new series.
This first movie will be introduced by Lyndy Mercer-Bullock of Moving Art Productions, the former owner, manager, and program director for the Keystone Cinema in Reno. The Keystone is well-known for having featured excellent art, independent, and foreign films in the area for 20 years. The Graduate Student Association joins the Joe Crowley Student Union in launching this new series.
Saturday Family Series:
New this semester watch for family movies in partnership with the Graduate Student Association and others for Saturday matinées.
Specialty Film Series:
Watch for a variety of new partnerships with academic departments, student organizations, and community groups.
Environmental Series begins with a partnership with the Academy for the Environment and the Joe Crowley Student Union to show Revolution Green 11:30 a.m. Jan. 31.
Diversity Film Series begins 11a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 4 p.m. Jan. 21 with the movie Boycott in recognition of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
Thursday Late Night Movie Series:
In cooperation with Flipside and Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention Programs the tradition of the Thursday night movies will continue. Entertaining movies start at 10 p.m. every Thursday.
