Demolition on the 27th and 28th floors of the East Tower of John Ascuaga's Nugget has begun, making way for a $15 million remodel of the guest rooms.

At once “comfortably contemporary and soothingly sophisticated,” the interior remodel features modern lines, rich hues, plasma televisions, granite accents, marble flooring, luxury bedding, coffee pots and business-friendly accessories, including wireless high-speed internet access - all designed to compliment the breathtaking views of the surrounding Sierra Nevada mountains and High Desert landscape.

Thousands of pieces of furniture removed from the 600 East Tower rooms will be donated to the Salvation Army.

The first renovated rooms will be ready for occupancy by late October. With an aggressive construction schedule planned, the project is expected to be completed by early 2008.

John Ascuaga’s Nugget is a premier casino resort owned and operated by the Ascuaga family in Sparks, Nevada. For more information, call 800-648-1177 or 775-356-3300, or visit www.janugget.com.
