No broken dreams along this Boulevard: Pizzeria offers entertainment to diners
Jukebox, pool table, slots, arcade, TV, appetizers, seating, beer and great pie!

Boulevard Pizza, formerly known as “Shakeys,” is one of those places not enough people know about, but should. One try and you’re sold. I used to think it didn’t get much better than Nu Yalk Pizza, until I stepped foot in this joint for the first time. I ate more pizza in one sitting then ever before.
Open since 1967, Boulevard Pizza is located just off the freeway near where Reno suddenly turns into Sparks. It's one of the larger pizza places in the city, and most definitely the best. They’ve got endless options for entertainment; so most likely, you’ll spend well over an hour inside. The jukebox, pool table, video arcade, computerized slot machines, and oversized televisions will lure you in and keep you there longer than expected.
Service with a smile
Service here is also very friendly. Chrissy, a full-time bartender, server and cook is an absolute riot. She spends time chatting with the customers, keeping them laughing and entertained, and when customers can't decide which pizza to choose, Chrissy recommends the pizzas she thinks are best.
When the place is slow, she cooks the pizza. Let me just say, this girl is the next Iron Chef. When a standard pepperoni pizza comes out of the oven and is as tasty as it would be if you hadn’t eaten in a week, you know you’ve found the right place.
“It’s just one big family here,” Chrissy said and explained that there are a ton of regulars who hang at Boulevard Pizza, sometimes more than twice a week.
What it'll cost you
Prices for food are standard and totally fair, at around $15 for an extra large pizza, $7 for an individual pizza, and appetizers range from$3 to $8 dollars.
When eating at a pizza restaurant, prices tend to be the same, and this place definitely fits. Boulevard Pizza prices are comparable to Round Table, Godfathers and Pizza Hut.
Also on the menu are some better-than-ever zucchini sticks, sandwiches, chicken wings, garlic bread, cheese bread, salad and much more.
Room to move
Overcrowding is never a concern, with plenty of seating inside the doors of this heavenly wonderland. Two rooms are divided by a wall that stretches halfway down the length of the place. On one side offers “picnic bench” style seating as well as a gi-normous television and the video arcade with a really fun racecar driving game.
The bar is on the other side of the wall with a pool table, a couple of televisions, and the video slot machines.
Beverages
If you happen to sit on the bar side, you’ll be pleased with their selection of pizza-paired beers. They’ve got Bud, Bud Light, Sierra Nevada, Fat Tire, and more.
They’ve also got wine and hard alcohol, making them one of the full-bar pizza pubs in the city. And the best part – beer is served in a huge glass that’s almost too heavy to hold. Two, two, two beers in one!
Dress code?
As with any other pizza place, it doesn’t matter what you wear. Jeans and a T-shirt suffice.
There is a true “pub” feel at Boulevard Pizza, sort of like a sports bar that happens to specialize in pizza. You’ll never have to wait long for your food, either, which is nice when considering how hard it is to sit still as the scent of Reno/Sparks’ best pizza lingers within the four walls of this fabulous and welcoming pizza joint, waiting to be delivered to your table.
