Set your alarms for the early morning hours of Sept. 7-9, because the Great Reno Balloon Race is in town. And this year reno.com had a chance to take a ride in its sponsor balloon Smile High before the Race got underway. Check out the video below to see the amazing sites we were treated to during our ride and just how much work goes into filling and launching the balloons.

Friday, Sept. 7
6:45 a.m. - Wells Fargo Mass Ascension Launch / Hare & Hound Competition
7:30 - 10:00 a.m. - Other on-field competitions
9:30 a.m. - E.L. Cord Foundation Tissue Paper Balloon Launch at Rancho San Rafael Park

Saturday, Sept. 8
5:00 a.m. - Glow Show (Major Sponsor Balloons)
5:30 a.m. - Dawn Patrol
6:45 a.m. - Wells Fargo Mass Ascension Launch / Hare & Hound Competition
7:30 - 10:00 a.m. - Other on-field competitions
2:00 - 5:00 p.m. - Balloons, Jazz & Wine Walk; Downtown Reno.Cost is $10.00 per person
