Mixed Media: From Realism to Abstraction

Transform a realistic artwork into an abstract image using the medium of your choice. Each stage of the process will be an evolution of several stylistic changes which will result in a non-objective representation of the original subject. Lectures, critiques and demonstrations will be the basis for this intermediate design course.

Instructor: Martha Voyevidka
Dates: Thursdays, Aug. 23 - Sept. 27
Time: 9 a.m. - noon

Fencing
Introduce your child to the art and science of fencing while promoting his or her physical fitness. Students will use protective equipment in a safe and fun environment as they gain basic fencing knowledge and improve strength, balance, coordination and self confidence.

Instructor: Eric Momberg
Dates: Tuesdays, August 7 - 28
Time: 3:30 - 5 p.m.

Kindercamp: Wild and Woolly Beasts
Kids ages 6 - 8 who love wild animals are invited to participate in this week's camp where students will make art that incorporates the animal kingdom. This session offers different media including sculpture, painting, drawing, collage and printmaking.

Instructor: Kelly Bridegum
Dates: Monday through Friday, Aug. 13 - 17
Time: 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Art Studio for Teens
During this week-long workshop, teens will investigate various themes and art media. Pinhole photography, screen printing, ceramics and book arts will be introduced and explored through hands-on experience.

Dates: Aug. 20 - 24
Time: 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
